The biggest rule? Wear something that feels like you.

Bring outfits you feel confident in, mix up colors and textures, and don't forget the things that make you you. Letter jacket? Instrument? Sports uniform? Bring them!

If you're standing in front of your closet thinking, "I have absolutely nothing to wear," don't panic. That's practically a senior portrait tradition. 😂  

If you're stuck between a few outfits, feel free to bring them along. I'm always happy to help you decide.

Summer before senior year is the most popular time, especially if you want your photos back before yearbook deadlines.

Every year I get calls in March and April from seniors hoping to squeeze in a session—and sometimes I can! But if you want the most flexibility with dates, summer is your best bet.

We can photograph your session at my downtown Columbus studio, explore downtown for tons of variety, or head somewhere that's meaningful to you.

Love nature? Great. Sports? Let's head to the field. Music? Bring your instrument. Your senior session should feel like you, so we'll choose a location that fits your personality

You'll receive all of the best edited images from your session. Most galleries include around 50–75 photos, and adding additional outfits, time, or locations usually means even more.

Absolutely.

If you wake up with a surprise breakout the morning of your session, don't stress. I'll take care of temporary blemishes.

What I won't do is edit you until you don't look like yourself. My goal is for your photos to look like the very best version of you, not someone completely different.

Short answer? No.

Longer answer? She probably really, really wants to. ❤️

Most parents come to the session, and I honestly love having them there. But if you'd rather not have an audience while we're actually taking photos, that's completely okay. I'll happily ask Mom (or Dad!) to hang back in the studio or explore downtown for a little while. Once we get rolling, most seniors relax a lot faster without someone watching every pose.

If your best friend is basically your emotional support water bottle, bring them. 😂

Just remember that this session is about you. The more you're chatting with your friend, the harder it is to stay present and create the kind of portraits you're here for.

The best hype squad? They cheer you on, tell you how amazing you look, and happily step out of the frame when it's time to work.

I hear this all the time. You don't need to know how to pose, where to put your hands, or even what expression to make. That's my job. 

After photographing people of all ages, body types, and personalities for over 17 years, I've learned that there's no such thing as a "photogenic" person—just someone who hasn't been guided well yet.

If the forecast isn't looking great, we'll keep an eye on it together. Sometimes the weather surprises us (Indiana likes to keep things interesting 🙃), and sometimes it's obvious we need a new date.

My goal isn't just to get your session done—it's to create photos you'll absolutely love. If that means rescheduling for better weather, that's exactly what we'll do.

I can't tell you how many seniors show up saying they're awkward, unphotogenic, or have no idea what to do.

My job isn't to photograph the version of you that's comfortable in front of a camera. My job is to help you become comfortable enough that your real personality shows up.
