I've been photographing important milestones and family memories for my clients since 2009. I'm a wife , mom to three young adults, English Bulldog mom, and a Jeep lover.
I have a multi-room studio in downtown Columbus, IN with the option of natural light or studio lighting. The majority of my high school seniors prefer to have their session in Columbus for the ease of having a spot to change clothes as well as all of the amazing photo op spots within walking distance. I will work with you on locations that are important to you, though!
Despite what my own kids might say, I pride myself in relating to teenagers. I work hard to make sure the subjects in my photos are always relaxed and ready to have a great time! I am very well versed in how to photograph the outgoing teen as well as the quiet shy teen. It's this weird super power I have. Maybe it's because I still feel like a teenager at heart???
You have a lot of options for senior portraits. I encourage you to check out full galleries of work from those you're considering. Make sure they're passing the vibe check. Don't just shop around based on price. Look for someone who can showcase your personality in the best possible way!
Let me know if you have any questions! I'm always happy to chat!!
Xoxo,
Marinda
SENIOR PORTRAIT SESSIONS INCLUDE:
SESSION PRICE: $900
($300 due at booking and remaining balance due at your session)
SESSION ADD-ONS:
STEP 1: CHOOSE THE DATE
You will select an available date for your senior portrait session.
STEP 2: PAY THE RETAINER
After selecting the date for your session, you will be prompted to pay the session retainer. That retainer holds your spot in my calendar.
STEP 3: CHOOSE A LOCATION
Many of my seniors opt to use my studio as there are several spots within walking distance giving you multiple background options at one location. I am always down for a new location if there is somewhere special to you. I'll be in touch in the weeks before your scheduled session date to help you select your senior portrait location.
STEP 4: CHOOSE YOUR OUTFITS
Bring your three outfits for sure! If you have more outfits you want to use, bring them along. We can always add on additional outfit options from the Session Add-On menu.
STEP 5: SHOW UP AND HAVE FUN!
You want your senior portrait experience to be enjoyable. Have a light snack or meal before your session so you're not hangry! Don't worry, if I feel like you would have better portraits if Mom or Dad aren't watching over my shoulder, I will happily ask them to hang out in a different spot for a moment.
Are you an athlete? Bring your letter jacket. Are you in your marching band? Bring your instrument and maybe part of your uniform (with director's permission of course!). Can you always be found with a good book? Bring them!
Leave the logos off clothing as much as possible (unless it's your school spirit wear!). Adding in layers and different textures through accessories is always a great idea! If you're truly stuck, do a quick Pinterest search!
The summer between your Junior year and Senior year is the most popular time for Senior Portraits. However, I've had my fair share of fall requests... even some last minuters in March and April!
As I said earlier, a majority of my Senior clients like the option of having their sessions in my studio in Downtown Columbus. We can take some indoor portraits and then walk around Downtown Columbus. That would count as one location. If we get back in our vehicles to head elsewhere, it's considered another location.
Your Senior Portraits should be a reflection of you and your interests as well. If you're a nature lover and like to hunt or fish, might I suggest the Muscatatuck Refuge or another park? Are you a football player? Might I suggest your football field or stadium (with permission from appropriate authorities)? Are you more into the arts? I've had sessions in high school auditoriums and they turn out beautifully. Think about what's important to you!
You will get all of the images I consider to be keepers. I will delete photos of blinking and duplicates. That said, in the base session, you should expect 50-75 photos. Adding in more outfits, time, and locations will result in additional images.
Yes, if you have concerns with acne or other blemishes, of course I'll help you out! That said, I do not believe in heavy airbrushing to make you look like a porcelain doll.
